Holistic Healing

Pilates for Rehabilitation

Phoenix Physical Therapy brings you the most effective, safest, and most up-to-date programs to help you recover and get back to doing the things you love. Pilates therapy is one of the programs we use for rehabilitation and wellness training.

Pilates is a form of exercise that focuses on improving postural alignment and flexibility and strengthening muscles. It helps optimize performance through mindful movement patterns and allows the use of the body in the most efficient way possible.

Pilates involves stretching, strengthening, motor control, and balance exercises. Through conscious movement exercises, you can relearn how every part of your body interacts with one another in order to help create a more functional and stronger body.

We Proudly Give Quality Treatments.

The Goal of Pilates Therapy

Pilates is a low-impact workout that offers numerous health benefits when incorporated into your routine or treatment program. It promotes the holistic healing of various conditions, such as scoliosis, osteoporosis, autoimmune disorders, diastasis recti, and other forms of injury.

Phoenix Physical Therapy offers private Pilates classes for all ages and body types. These classes are intentionally designed through our expertise and curated knowledge throughout our years of providing exceptional, individualized care. Our Pilates therapy programs promote healing and wellness by:

  • Pilates classes are centered on strengthening the body’s core, which is surrounded by many types of muscles.
  • Through eccentric contractions, Pilates creates stronger muscles and improves core strength and function.
  • As a mind-body practice, Pilates enhances the awareness of the body and heightens senses of pain or comfort, emotion, and the surrounding environment.
  • Heightened senses allow the body to respond and move more efficiently and be more in tune.
  • With Pilates, you have more control over your body and use it the way you want to. Body awareness and coordination can help you react quickly.
  • Having a good posture is a reflection of the perfect alignment of the body. Good body alignment fosters balance and stability.
  • Pilates exercises focus on full-body alignment by improving posture and strengthening the back muscles.
  • In order to achieve optimal mobility, a balance between flexibility and strength is needed.
  • With Pilates exercises, you will work on lengthening and stretching your muscles. These types of exercises increase muscle mass and bone density, and build strength.
  • Pilates exercises also focus on improving functional strength and allow your body to move in a precise and controlled manner.
